On the Railroad Tracks

from Lies by Glenn Case

/

about

Originally a song called "Trainwrecks and Rainchecks", but I didn't like the lyrics music. Plus, the opening melody sounded too close to an existing Paul Simon song, so I switched things up.

lyrics

On the Railroad Tracks
(Case)

On the Railroad tracks
and I am not turning back
There will be no change of heart
Picked a map, and threw a dart
Packed what little that I had
and I burned the photographs
The tears outweighed the laughs
and so, it's better in the past

Our memory's fading fast
I can stretch my legs up in first class
While I'm on the railroad tracks

I like the view outside the train
Peering through the window pane
Rivers, sky and trees and hills
Like a painting that's not still
Like the water; I reflect
On where I'm going, what I've left
It was clear up to my neck
But, there's no baggage left to check

Our memory's fading fast
I can stretch my legs up in first class
While I'm on the railroad tracks

And I'm on a different path
I am counting on that
Like a train that's left the track

Our memory's fading fast
I can stretch my legs up in first class
While I'm on the railroad tracks

Our memory's fading fast
I can stretch my legs up in first class
While I'm on the railroad tracks

about

Glenn Case Spokane, Washington

I write music.

I listen to music.

I genuinely just love music.

I have a song available in "Rock Band" and that makes me smile.

Yeah, I'm the guy who did the soundtrack for "The New Adventures of Captain S".

I probably release too many albums, but I do attempt to find a good balance between quality and quantity.

Thank you.
