That's what the headline read
You don't see that every day
So, I've gotta say
I was intrigued just a little

A pickup with a trailer
One hundred monkeys inside
The driver must've turned wide
And they collided
With an oncoming truck in a lane

The trailer separates
And three monkeys escape
And they ran away
Into the trees
So, they closed the road
For three hours or more
As they were searching for
Three escapee monkeys

Monkeys on a freeway
And really what could be done
Bet it was kind of a mess
That’s what I would guess
There’s not a go-to solution
Still, don’t you approach one
If you see it around
And as the last one was found
Our heads are all bowed
And our hearts are filled with love and with joy

So, it was wrapped up neat
I breath a sigh of relief
And it seemed to me
That it was all good news
But as I read on
My smile was all gone
They had been heading for
A LAB not a zoo…
