Another song from 2007.

I believe I used a website/application to come up with the chord structure. I initially called the instrumental "Radiohead ripoff" because I thought it sounded a bit too much like "No Surprises" in places. This was part of a weird thing that Niveous and I were putting together called "Purple Reign" after I had gotten a takedown notice for uploading a Prince cover to YouTube. Prince was being aggressive about taking down cover songs at the time.

"Purple Reign" was about challenging musician friends to write original songs for every one of Prince's song titles in his back catalog, and we were going to go through every album. It was probably a poor decision, but it felt like a reasonable protest at the time. We never got past the second or third album, but there were a few really decent songs that came out of the project. I believe this was my only submission. "So Blue" was a title from his "For You" album.
