Sick of Being Sick

This song was recorded in 2005, and it is from a failed "Album-A-Day" (AAD) project (which where you attempt to write and record 20 minutes of original music in a single day.) My first AAD was successful, and that became "Keeping the Doctor Away". If I had succeeded, this would have been on an album called "Tissues and Issues".

I do believe I was troubleshooting audio problems in addition to writing the songs for this AAD, and if memory serves - that was a factor in why I failed to get the album done by my self-imposed deadline.

You can hear some audio artifacts in my lead vocal that are likely a result of the sound card issues. I actually kinda like how it sounds, and it would be difficult to replicate.

I thought the isolated drum track for this song was lost forever. The drums were a file named sick.wav but the only sick.wav that I could find was a full mixdown of the song. There were no isolated drums available. Then I found a different sick.wav while I was gathering files for this compilation, and lo and behold! I found the long lost sick.wav that was drums only! So, I was able to give this song a proper remix to the best of my current abilities.
