More Often Than Not

from Lies by Glenn Case

/

about

I'm not a big fan of tales of swords and sorcery, by and large. So, I was a bit surprised when I imagined an archer, holding off enemy forces as I wrote the lyrics out. In reality, the lyrics are about the discomfort and vulnerability associated with letting people get too close.

lyrics

More Often Than Not
(Case)

In the event of an attack
Survive the ambush, drive them back
I didn't think I'd take a stand
but then, I never had a plan

This is
the genesis of something vicious
Hold tight
I don't really wanna fight

I don't prefer the sword and shield
They're heavy, and they're tough to wield
My shoulders ache from staying poised
But, still you leave me with no choice

This is
the genesis of something vicious
Hold tight
I don't really wanna fight

Stop, look, listen
and just hold your position
'til it's time to abandon your spot
It's hard to manage
'cause they do more damage
If you let 'em get close enough
You can't start running
if you don't see it coming
but, you will more often than not

[Solo]

This is
the genesis of something vicious
Hold tight
I don't really wanna fight

Stop, look, listen
and just hold your position
'til it's time to abandon your spot
It's hard to manage
'cause they do more damage
If you let 'em get close enough
You can't start running
if you don't see it coming
but, you will more often than not

Stop, look, listen
and just hold your position
'til it's time to abandon your spot
It's hard to manage
'cause they do more damage
If you let 'em get close enough
You can't start running
if you don't see it coming
but, you will more often than not

about

Glenn Case Spokane, Washington

I write music.

I listen to music.

I genuinely just love music.

I have a song available in "Rock Band" and that makes me smile.

Yeah, I'm the guy who did the soundtrack for "The New Adventures of Captain S".

I probably release too many albums, but I do attempt to find a good balance between quality and quantity.

Thank you.
