I composed the music for this song roughly 14 years ago. I always liked it, but was concerned that I wouldn't be able to write lyrics that would live up to how much I liked the music. I imagined how awful it would be to lose a close friend, knowing that it is an all too real possibility in my future if I don't die first.
lyrics
Between the Moon and Stars
(Case)
Far away, far away
How far will you go?
I know you can't stay
You headed up
past the clouds,
past the sky
and waved goodbye
But, who knows what's going on?
How long, 'til we are gone,
or just why we can survive
when you were so full of life
Gotta say, gotta say
You live in my mind
Rent free this time
But the hardest thing to take
Is no new memories that we can make
But, who knows what's going on?
How long, 'til we are gone,
or just why we can survive
when you were so full of life
You go, but I'll stay
I'll catch up with you one day
Until then, my friend
travel safe, because
You're missed, and it gets
impossible to deal with this
in my heart, where you are
Between the moon and stars
(Solo)
But, who knows what's going on?
How long, 'til we are gone,
or just why we can survive when you were so full of life
You go, but I'll stay
I'll catch up with you one day
Until then, my friend
travel safe, because
You're missed, and it gets
impossible to deal with this
in my heart, where you are
Between the moon and stars
